Tony Khan answered questions regarding Ronda Rousey at the AEW Full Gear media scrum on Saturday.

Rousey wrestled in an unadvertised match at the ROH taping from the KIA Forum on Friday night. She teamed with her longtime friend and training partner, Marina Shafir, in a match that will air on HonorClub at a later date.

When asked about Rousey's status with his company, Khan said she's not signed but they would love to have her back anytime.

"She's not signed but we had a great conversation. It came about, of course, there was some unfinished business, they had that match and I thought it would be great for our fans to settle it in the ring," Khan said. "At the Wrestling Revolver show, they had the tag match and to be honest, I had spoken to them and I thought it would be great to have a match and build some interest and then have the story come back to Ring of Honor where Athena is the Ring of Honor Women's World Champion, Billie Starkz is her minion, there is a lot of interest in that."

"Ronda was happy to come here and she was great. The crowd was really excited to see her and it was a great match. We'd love to have her back sometime."

"She is a local, she lives nearby and that really helped make it possible so any time it's convenient, we'd love to have her back because she was tremendous. It was a great match and if people want to see it, check out ROH," Khan continued.

Rousey's status was also addressed on today's edition of Wrestling Observer Radio by our own Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez.

"With Ronda, it's a one-shot deal. Obviously, if Ronda wants to work more they will use her anytime. She was doing a favor to help Marina," Meltzer said.

However, Meltzer emphasized that while Rousey could work matches from time to time, she is likely not going to commit to a regular schedule.

"There's a reason that Ronda wanted to finish. It's a family reason," Meltzer continued. "These shows that she's worked have all been in Los Angeles, they've all been to team with Marina. So, it's a night out for fun for her. It's not like she's on the road or anything like that."

"She didn't leave WWE to go to AEW. Stranger things have happened but certainly the idea when she left WWE was that she was done with wrestling and she's moving on to the next stage of her life."

Ronda Rousey made her surprise debut in Ring of Honor, and the match was a blast.

News was already out that Rousey wrestled in ROH during the TV taping on November 17 at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, California. The match was released for the world’s viewing pleasure on episode 39 of ROH TV (Nov. 23, 2023) on HonorClub. Rousey teamed with Marina Shafir against Athena and Billie Starkz.

The background to setting up the match was Athena issuing a tag team open challenge to anyone brave enough to stand in her way. After the ROH women’s champ and her minion exited, Shafir entered on screen to make a phone call.

Athena and Starkz were in the ring for the main event. Shafir calmly entered then came the big reveal of The Baddest Woman on the Planet. Athena was in shock.

Athena was game to start the match. When the champ turned around to see Rousey glaring at her, she reversed course to send Starkz into the ring. Rousey grabbed a wristlock and strut her Judo skills tossing Starkz around the mat.

Shafir had her turn tenderizing the minion. Starkz broke free to tag Athena. The champ entered with bravado to face Shafir, then Rousey was tagged in. Athena immediately turned around to tag Starkz back into the match without any time to rest.

Rousey ran roughshod on Starkz for a suplex, a running knee in the corner, and an armbar over the ropes. Tag to Shafir. Athena hit a cheap shot from the outside, so Shafir retaliated with a Sparta kick knocking her off the apron.

The time finally came for the showdown between Rousey and Athena. Shafir and Starkz were both down crawling to their respective corners. Athena entered first. She wasn’t able to stop the tag to Rousey. Athena tried to bail once again, but Starkz wasn’t even standing yet. Athena was forced to fight. The champ ate a clothesline, a push kick, a hip toss, and a step-up knee strike. During the exchange, Rousey wisely kicked Starkz off the apron to prevent Athena from tagging out. Rousey caught a kick to counter for a sidewinder slam.

Rousey got too cocky choking Starkz in the ropes, and she left herself open to be clotheslined out of the ring by Athena. The action spilled outside, and Athena executed a double Samoan drop fallaway slam to Rousey and Shafir.

Athena went for the O-Face flying stunner to finish, but Rousey blocked to counter for an armbar. Athena locked her grip preventing extension and tried to escape via powerbomb. That tactic backfired. Rousey was momentarily stunned, but Athena was too slow to remove her arm from harm. Rousey snatched the limb again and cinched the submission tight. Starkz made the save with a swanton onto Rousey.
