Ron Paul Excluded in Iowa

Lew Moore, our campaign manager, called Mr. Edward Failor, an officer of Iowans for Tax Relief, to ask about it. To our shock, Mr. Failor told us Dr. Paul was not invited; he was not going to be invited; and he would not be allowed to participate. And when asked why, Mr. Failor refused to explain.

Failor has decided that he will decide who is a real candidate and who is not.

BUSTED! ED FAILOR, WHO EXCLUDED RON PAUL FROM THE IOWANS FOR TAX RELIEF DEBATE, WORKS FOR JOHN MCCAIN CAMPAIGN AS SENIOR ADVISOR.

In addition, he's a financial supporter of McCain:

Edward Failor Contribution List in 2008
Name & Location Employer/Occupation Dollar Amount Date Primary/General Contibuted To
Failor, Edward D Mr. Jr. MUSCATINE, IA 52761 Iowans For Tax Relief/Executive Vic $250 03/31/2007 P JOHN MCCAIN 2008 INC. - Republican
Failor, Edward D Mr. Jr. MUSCATINE, IA 52761 Iowans For Tax Relief/Executive Vic $1,000 03/31/2007 P JOHN MCCAIN 2008 INC. - Republican

Case closed, I guess. Now let's see if anything is done about it. You know how reporters always love a scoop?

Let's see if Paul's exclusion is even reported in the MSM.

Shouldn't a privately sponsored debate be able to include or exclude as it sees fit? I'd think Ron Paul would be very supportive of such a concept.

I agree. But what kind of person running a "tax relief" organization would exclude the presidential candidate with possibly the best record on taxation in all of American history, someone who favors the abolition of the income tax and the drastic reduction or elimination of nearly all other federal taxes?

Privately sponsored, but open for criticism. It seems that politics are more important to Mr. Failor than tax relief.

Maybe they are looking for modest relief? Sure, seems like an odd choice, but I think you've already hit upon the reason.

Why'd he organise a debate if he's already decided on who he wants to be the candidate?
See post #2, for one.

Also, there's been a disturbing trend amongst these experts to push Paul out and away from the spotlight or to smear him. Not just an apathetic approach to the candidate (Whom they believe has little chance of winning) but active sabotage.

That's what I'm saying - why have a debate when you yourself are an obvious supporter of one the candidates already anyway?
Sure, if you expect your candidate to pwn the others it'd be nice to give him a platform - but so far that's not exactly what McCain's done in the debates.

I'm a supporter of Ron Paul myself. I don't agree with everything he says, but at least he's damn honest when he says it. I knew there had to be something to it. Just like in the Primaries when Ron was pushed to the side, and he was cut off quickly by Matthews, while others were told time was up but were allowed to continue. Not with Paul, even one or two seconds over and it was cut.

I too don't agree with all of his policies, but I agree with a lot.

He'll never be more than the MarkB or gul of the Republicans, though.

What gets me is that his stance is classic Conservative, and yet the Republican party is doing it's best to push him aside in favor of a total fraud like Guliani, who by the way, was Mayor during 9/11. Did you know that?

Thing is, I like Giuliani better than anyone else.

If only because I think it's time we have a president whose name most people can't spell.

Ah, crud. Someone took down the "Giuliani Time" video from Google. *tosses another good bookmark*

It's an excellent documentary on his doings, public and not-so public. I'd recommend anyone who would consider voting for him to watch it.

Well, I expect a little corruption in my politicians If they aren't corrupt, how can they possibly represent our interests?!?!

I've been avoiding the current political cycle so far, mainly because I disapprove of the continuous election cycle that we've seemed to have adopted lately. Most of these fuckers are in Congress, right? Do your fucking jobs for a change. Yes, I know, it's a futile wish.

From what I've seen so far, Ron Paul is getting my vote. He'll be gone by the time the primaries are over, of course (I have no vote in the primaries that matters). So, for the first time ever I may not bother voting at all. None of the other candidates appeal to me at all.

I'm reminded of a story my friend told me about McCain. Dunno how wide-spread it is, but I only heard it from him. It was about McCain showing up in congress to press for the immigration bill, I think it was, and some other senator said something like "Oh, yeah, here comes McCain, parachuting in from campaigning to actually do his job." McCain's response? "Fuck you."

He belongs here, IMO!!!
