CBS 2 learned early Saturday that the National Action Network has increased the Rev. Al Sharpton's security due to increased death threats in the wake of the firing of radio host Don Imus by MSNBC and CBS Radio.

Beefed up security will also be in place at the National Action Network's headquarters in Harlem.

“We have no way of knowing the seriousness of these threats, but they have intensified greatly in the last two days as Rev. Sharpton was figured prominently in the firing of Don Imus," Attorney Charlie King said in an statement early Saturday morning.

Well, his big mouth got Imus canned, but his continued antics and vows to go after the music industry are sure to piss off some heavy duty gang banging Rap artists.

It's just that they have "increased" in the past week. It could just be a play for sympathy, since he obviously went so overboard with Imus.

I saw Real Time With Bill Maher last night. Sharpton was on for a couple of minutes, and was a humorless robot spouting the same angry rhetoric, even though he had already won. Maher tried to get him to smile and only got him more stiff and angry. I bet he leaks that he won't do that show anymore...not that he would mean it, since he's a media whore.

I usually enjoy Maher but it was lame of him not to ask about the Duke case. I've met Sharpton and he's a true asshole that deserves whatever justice is coming his way. Not that Imus isn't hated by all who know him as well.

Dear God! Need I tell the story again of Sharpton and Tootie marching at my city's City Hall protesting the police shooting of a young black girl...Yeah, riiiiiiight up until Sharpton found out that the police officer that killed the young, crack addicted, gun toting girl was, that's right BLACK. That crazy fuck is always sticking his nose where it doesn't belong.

LOL! I bet old Al's complexion lightened several shades when he found out the officer was black. I'm thinking the Little Rascals here, but I'm dating myself.:laugh:
