Sherlock series 3

I liked it! The acting is really good. It was funny. The actual terrorist plot wasn't that great (and really V For Vendetta) but it was just setting up mysterious man and the episode was really about Sherlock/s return. It's good seeing Cumberbatch play the hero again after playing so many villains on screen (Khan, Smaug, Julian Assange.)

I loved it. Martin Freeman's face acting when Sherlock revealed himself was amazing. Weird seeing his real wife playing his fiancé but she was very good too (well everyone's good).

I liked how they kind of made it so you didn't even care how the death was faked by the end. I wouldn't have actually minded if they'd left it with the one if the fanfic versions. The final explanation was pretty much the most popular real fan theory anyway.

The tube carriage (ok, car) thing didn't really make sense. Those carriages have doors at the ends so you can just move down through the train. Anyway, I liked the ghost station bit as I think it was filmed in a disused station I went on a tour of recently.

Man at the end = the REAL Moriarty?

I feel like, thanks to tumblr, I've seen most of the episode. I really wish America's BBC would get on top of things and start showing them here, but I guess I'm just going to have to suck it up and Netflix it.

I CHECKED PBS TOO AND MINE TOLD ME NO WHAT AM I DOING WRONG BECAUSE IF I'VE MISSED IT BECAUSE IM A FUCKING MORON I WILL BE VERY PETURBED

I re-watched the very first ep on PBS last night to draw my friend into the dark Sherlockianverse so as TO BE READY for the airing in NorthAmerica land.

So the last episode as I said was all about the Sherlock/Watson interaction and the actual plot part seemed almost like an afterthought and I thought that made sense since it was the first episode back. But this episode was like that again. And there's ony three episodes in the series. And in the first two series they managed to have plots and fun Sherlock/Watson stuff. But this one...it was entertaining, there were funny parts, but it was so fanservice and tumblr-y. I'd rather have a "proper" episode (yeah I KNOW my view of a "proper" episode isn't everyone's view I'm just saying) before it disappears for another two years. And didn't the pacing feel a bit weird? Like it's all funny wedding stuff then about five minutes of mystery stuff then ten minutes of them drunk and then the army guy finally gets some lines. Also did the army guy die or what? Watson goes into the room to help him then we never see him again. When they arrested the killer I was expecting the army guy to come walking in and have a scene with him or at least Sherlock to tell him that he failed but no, nothing.

Lara Pulver is hot.

Yes... I mean, I enjoyed the episode as a whole, and I enjoyed certain scenes very much indeed, but it was odd. Odd pacing, odd editing (Mycroft/Sherlock convo) and odd characterisation in some parts. We've seen Sherlock imitate "normal" people before, but in this episode they made it seem as though he has no clue at all about how people behave, which makes no sense for a master sleuth.

Also, the mystery was quite easy to figure out, which is unusual for detective dramas in general. When Sherlock spends ten minutes talking about an attempted murder, then admits the case was never solved, it's a pretty sure bet that it will be by the end of the episode.

The photographer was played by Martin Freeman's real wedding photographer.

I hope next week it's a whole episode dedicated to one mystery.

Next week will be Holmes and Watson playing Mario Kart for 80 minutes then at the end Mrs. Hudson walks in and explodes and Sherlock looks unconcerned and says "robot" then he and Watson highfive for tumblr.

(No, it'll probably be good.)

I looked at the wife this morning and words appeared around her head as if put there by after effects.

"You're a tosser"
"I fuckin hate you"
"Get out to work and leave me alone"
"I would rather fuck a bald monkey"

What do you think it means?

Just watched the second one. I wont put any spoilers in but...

I loved it - truly thought it was great television and Freeman can act - really understated and he has his "looks" but truly excellent. Cumberbatch has an excellent presence but no one doubts his acting. It was Freeman that really surprised me.

The funniest bit was the after effects when Holmes was drunk - took the piss out of their own tricks. Nicely done.

So good to see someone doing television formats like this truly magnificently. MORE PLEASE.

Yeah, I've been really impressed by Martin Freeman. I sometimes suspected he was getting an easy ride as an actor as he pretty much always plays the everyman, but in this and The Hobbit he's really shown his skill. Very subtle and natural.
