Should all tv shows be expanded to 39 episodes a season?

I want to smell dark matter
And be shown in the weeks where Big Brother isn't on because I ONLY EXIST WHEN I'M WATCHING TV?

STOP THINKING EXACTLY LIKE I DO!

In the early days of television, a season DID consist of 39 episodes. The television season mirrored the school year.

(BTW I APPLAUD YOUR USE OF THE AMERICAN "SEASON" AS OPPOSED TO THE GB "SERIES" IN YOUR QUESTION. WE ARE ALL BROTHERS BETWEEN THE PIXELS Q'PLAH)

I would long for shows like Saving Grace, Psych, True Blood and others to have at least 22 a season, and not 12. Especially TB. ARGHHHHHHH

As long as they didn't stretch the story out and have "filler" episodes.

I always preferred "season" to "series".

Saying "series" just confuses people because the show as a whole is called a "series" as well.

I always wondered about that -- if a season is a "series", what did/do people call the overall series -- "program"? "Show"? "DINSDALE"?

WE CALL IT SUCCESS

I think they're called series in the UK because shows only last a month and a half if they're six episodes long and that's too short to call it a season, but yeah, "series" is just confusing.

"There's a new series on tonight!"

"Really? Is it a new series or an old one?"

"It's a new series, I said that already"

"No, but is it a new series, or a new series?"

"Oh, right, no, it's not a new series. It's just a new series."

"Right. So who's in it then?"

"Nick Knowles."

"I'm not fucking watching that."
