I'm asking here since everyone probably upgraded six months ago (and Menty six years ago) so you'd all know the benefits LOL JUST USE FIREFOX AT ALL TIMES YOU FOOL.
I have to keep 7 on my work machine, so that we can test things in the older environment (or maybe IT is just lazy I don't know). I haven't bothered on my laptop because I believe every single MS upgrade from now on is engineered to SPY ON YOUR COMPUTER SOME MORE.
I really only use it when I need to POST AS TWO DUALS AT ONCE
I upgraded whenever it came out and told me to. I hardly ever use IE8, but it seems about the same as IE7 with a few extras like "suggested sites" which I've never used. I don't need my browser suggesting sites, I spend enough time at the sites I suggest!
As far as spying on your computer goes, I think Google is the biggest culprit of that. They think privacy is passe, THE BASTARDS.
It's not about hackers. I'm talking about huge corporations (and ISPs) having access to your non-browsing computer life. The only thinkg that is thier business is what you choose to share about your surfing. It feels as if they are taking away our ability to set our own privacy levels without telling us.
That's my privacy combo. Makes everyday browsing much more secure and less intrusive.
I use Firefox almost exclusively. I do have IE8 since it comes with Windows 7 and I have no doubt that it is an improvement on IE7 which itself was a super huge dramatic improvement over the shite that was IE6.
From what I saw of IE8 it's basically the same as IE7 with a few tweaks and performance hikes. As much as I love Firefox I do find it slower than all the other major browsers. If I need to view a page in IE though I'll just change the rendering engine within Firefox instead of firing up IE8. And if I want to load tons of pages and do something that requires a lot of back and forth browsing I use Opera since its quicker than both Firefox and IE.
