Should the wah wah pedal make a comeback?

Jimi kind of frontiered the sound. It's a volume/distortion pedal for a guitar, when you press it up and down with your foot, it makes the note you're playing go "wah wah"

Has been used bigtime in the 70's, too, iirc. Wasn't Richie Blackmore one to use it quite frequently, too?
