Since Ultros thinks i have nothing SERIOUS to say without bein' gay...

...my dad may very well have inoperable lung cancer & an aneurysm attached to an artery leading to the heart. Yeah, he just had 3 stents put in for heart blockage when the CT Scan revealed the nodule on the lung. My dad may die, but HEY...i'm just a laughable FAG at TK according to YOU Ultros!??

LOL & FUCK YOU ULTROS!! :pissed:

Boo fucking hoo, you're family is the first to die EVAH.

I'm really in tears, because your pain is unique, and I don't spit on it and dismiss it as being nothing more than attempts 'get at me.'

Go fuck yourself.

If it's true, sorry to hear about your dad. Is it the kind of thing they'll be able to do anything about?

Evidently yer fatness has blinded you towards real human emotion. Have you ever thought of painting the mirrors around you black before posting?? I'm just sayin'. Also, i'm praying right now that the cancer in my father will somehow spread to the flab surrounding yer gut & genital area.

Go do a bunch of stuff with him while he's healthy enough to enjoy it. Take vacation time, blow off work, whatever you gotta do. You won't regret it.

He just retired this year. Kinda sucks to have health problems & not be able to enjoy the retirement years. We are not real close, he's not very open to discussion to any of his children about his illness...we hear the details from mom or other close relatives. I'd like to get closer to him, but he makes it difficult, he always has.

So don't discuss it. Just make time. What does he like to do with his free time? Sports? Buy two tickets, come collect him, and go. Play cards? Set up a day every week when you come and play. Fishing or golf, whatever? Find a way to get him there. Now's the time to erase every bad feeling you ever had and use the time you got left. Later you won't be able to, whether this turns out serious or not.

He likes to watch TV (Nascar racing & Hitler documentaries) & get's pissed when anyone talks while he is watching. ..SERIOUSLY!

Well, i don't know 100% for sure he is gonna die. Would like to have some sorta bonding experience with him, just have NO clue as to what that could possibly be. I recently went over to the parents house for father's day & brought him a gift...he said "thank you" & then sat in front of the freakin' tv set for the next several hours while i chatted with my mother. He's just one of those people who doesn't wanna be bothered, even by his own kids. My brother has basically disowned my father & has grown tired of his crap & moved out of the country. Perhaps some people are just best left alone.

Will he die soon, or.... ?

Doesn't matter if he's doomed or not. His health is failing, and before long you won't have the opportunity.

Let me give you an example: my dad was a prize asshole most of his life, did shit to me and my family that left indelible scars. Many of his children refuse to speak to him. But he's 75, his health is failing, and he needs a purpose to stay alive. Like your dad, he doesn't much care for socializing. I don't live in the same state. So how do I bond?

Simple. There are three things pop likes: reflecting on his pool playing skills past and present, his ability to fix up junk cars, and getting a good bargain. I hate cars, I hate gambling because of him, and I know most of the shit he buys is shit. But every other week, I call and talk to him about pool, what tournament he entered, how he placed, who he beat, what money he won. Then I tell him about something I bought at a garage sale or auction and what a deal it was. Then I tell him something is wrong with my car and ask him his opinion. Can he help? No. Do I care about any of these things? Not really. But it makes him feel like he still matters.

Next time you go to your dad's and he's watching NASCAR, sit down and watch it with him. Don't try to chat or ask him how the day went, just watch cars endlessly turning left for three hours. Before you do, study up on one driver, learn some shit in case he decides to talk, then tell him you've been following the career of "fill in the blank" a little, then ask him what he thinks of the guy. You want a hint? Go with Danica Patrick, NASCAR fans always have an opinion about her.

So what if you don't give a shit about NASCAR or the female driver. He'll know you're bullshitting, you'll know it, but none of that matters. He'll appreciate the thought.

Good luck.

Must i really give a shit about Nascar to bond with Daddy Dearest!?? Although you could be right...i have to admit that. I hate TV, would rather bond about something REAL LIFE, but guess he can't get into that. I'll have to think on this for awhile.

You don't have to care a lick about it. Consider it a job you gotta do for an afternoon, like mowing the lawn. If you have a racetrack near your town, get tickets for both of you and go gawk at the mullets. Race car fans can be very entertaining...
