So I've been re-reading my comics...

Why isn't Rogue considered an omega-level mutant, at least when she had total recall of every power she'd ever absorbed.

I guess I think of her like Legion whose multiple personalities have powers, and he's considered one.

The term was first seen in the 1986 issue Uncanny X-Men #208, but was completely unexplained (beyond the obvious implication of it referring to an exceptional level of power). Some abilities depicted by mutants described as Omega-level include immortality, extreme manipulation of matter and energy, high psionic ability, strong telekinesis, and the potential to exist beyond the boundaries of the known physical universe. I must be behind the times in this too, as I only recognise three of those names.

I get why Jean Gray and Rachel are because of the Phoenix entity, but why would Storm and Iceman be considered one? I guess because Iceman can become a solid? Hmmm...it's very confusing.

I think it might be more about their potential power than those they have already displayed.

I don't really pay attention that these power level type things because it always changes depending on who's writing anyway.

Rogue's been portrayed as quite powerful lately, taking on the powers of more than one mutant at once and using them simultaneously and teaching Hope's "Five Lights" how to master their powers (in theory.)
