I don't remember that episode.. it's been a long time since I watched TNG. I did just recently see The Enemy Within where there was a transporter malfunction that separated Kirk and some dog in a costume into good and evil versions of themselves.
 
By the 24th cenutry, scientists will have proven there is no such thing as the soul.
 
But Riker plays in a jazz band!

How can you have soul music without souls?
 
I love the bit where Riker wears those leather chaps and catches the alien disease that makes him lick his arms continually.
 
That was a two part episode.

Tom Riker did not receive any part of Will's soul. This was proven in DS9's "Defiant" when he tried flirting with Kira by playing his trombone and could only manage country music.

Also, for some reason Tom had a thing about gourds. They never explained why.

I liked the episode when Riker and his twin tag teamed Troi in Picard's ready room.
 
The fact that he was hitting on KIRA proves that Tom was the inferior Riker.
 
Maybe Tom didn't want to take the chance that Will had played poker with Kurzon or something.

ACTUALLY, wasn't it mentioned that Jadzia and Will had hung out the last time he was on the station...that really does explain it!
