Wow, what an exciting game soccer must be...
 
Since I've been watching it for the first time this year, I appreciate it's differences from American games.
1: They aren't picky about rules. If a ball touches a hand, or the guy steps on the Out of bounds line, They let it go if it doesn't really matter.
More focus on game play than getting pissy about the rules. Americans would rather bitch about arbitrary rules.
2: the game clock. It doesn't stop for whining, fouls, or substitutions. you get 90 minutes to play, if you need more time stop talking about it and play. Can you imagine football or basketball with a clock like that? Ha!

It's a more enjoyable game because they actually play. Americans want to bitch and moan and have points given to them. Fuck that, learn to play better asswipe.

3: when a player gets booted because of fouling, the team playes with one less player. No subbing. That's cool.

Actually, let me explain: Players can step out of bounds all they want, but the ball can't go out of bounds. And the whole ball must go out of bounds before it is called out.

You get 90 minutes plus any stoppage time (which is loosely interpreted by the ref).

The ejected player also gets a vacation the next game the team plays.
 
I still don't know what the rules are for offsides yet.
I think Italy got called for 8 or 9 of them and i couldn't figure out what was the determining factor.
 
Offside = a "fast break" in American sports.
