I mean, the space shots and shipship shots look great, like they're from one of the actual films, but I'm not convinced the character designs work in 3D. They worked really well in 2D, especially with the stylised nature of the action, but in 3D they just look... deformed. Espeically Count Dooku.
That and the addition of Anakin's Desposable Padawan, who seem to exist only to either:
A) Die at the end.
B) Become the focus of disturbing fan art.
C) Sell toys.
D) All of the above.
Maaaaybe if Tartakovsky was involved in any way it might make me less weary, but they've not let him anywhere near it.
I bet it'll be pretty good, when it's all said and done. Personally, I don't give a stuff about making shows for merchandising, because I don't buy the merch. Besides, almost everything has toys spun out of it these days.
Well the prequels were made so that Lucas could fill in the backstory and so there would fianlly be Episodes I-VI. That's fine. This just looks like "Well it's been three years since episode III I guess we'd better do something hey let's just put that TV cartoon we'd been working on into cinemas, that'll do."
Instead of making it to tell the story, it's just there to... um...
Kinda reminds me of a 4 page comic strip Transformers artist Lee Sullivan did for a Spitting Image book back in 1988 (I've just pulled the book off the shelf, and sadly it's too large to scan).
Basically called them 'The Merchandisers' and poked fun at their increasingly lame Transformations & cheap production. Obviously by this point, the licence was well on the decline.
I was going to say "I already posted it!" but that was an eariler, lower quality version. It looks pretty cool. Ani's padawan is cute. I'd hit it. Hope she doesn't die.
Yeah after the (TERRIBLE) film the series has become really enjoyable.
And yeah, Ahsoka is not a bad character, but I still believe that the person who had the idea of making the 14 year old alien girl wear only a tube top was thinking "I CAN'T WAIT 'TILL THE FANS DRAW HER NAKED!". Because really.
