SURE, it all STARTS OUT innocently enough.....

just painting the trim on a few windows.
...but then you notice how grotty the baseboards beneath the windows look.
...then the door beside the base board looks a bit chipped...then the other one across from it....

what really pisses me off is it's all gorgeous oak trim - but some MOFO painted it over ages ago and it's of course lead paint and too dangerous for me to remove by myself. if I win the lottery I'll hire pros in hazzmat suits to strip all the paint off while I recline at some resort somewhere.. til then...
it's a shame, cos no one else around here in a house the same age as mine seems to have had had an idiot living in it who painted over the oak, so I get to see what my place could look like evry time I visit.

well i did take a door off the hinges and strip it outside COS I WAS CURIOUS OK but alas I can't do that with the trim all through the house.
thats how i found out it was all oak
(ok, I stripped off some trim in the kitchen but then my cousin told me to STOP or I'd end up posting all the time in the MineField!...oh wait....)
