SWEDEN 0 - TRIN/TOBAGO 0

This was a truly entertaining match. Many of the T&T players are known quantities, playing on these shores, and Shaka Hislop, the goalkeeper, has played here for 14 years, including a few at my local club, Portsmouth.

He was outstanding, Dwight Yorke played as a defender for most of the match and was outstanding, but the real star was Carlos Edwards. Bags of pace, and very defensively sound. He was all over the place.

Sweden were a constant thread, but just couldn't finish. Ibrahimovic was always imposing, and the tricks & pace of Wilhelmsson looked good.

The result, however, has blown the group wide open for England. Three points against T&T next week, and we're as good as through.

btw. the swede #21 pissed me off. While every one else was being a good sportsman, all he was doing was trying to actout fouls and "get" the other team.
all the other's were being decent to each other.
 
Yea, no kidding, How do you tell who wins? Do the fans fight it out in the stands?

I play a mean game of "Kick the Mexican", I never did want to go after the ball. Just run up the the mexican with the ball and kick him.

Wilhelmsson. He's Sweden's star midfielder. You're right, though. Sweden, in their frustration at not being able to score against such an underrated team caused many fouls and stupid, unsportsmanlike behavior. But, Trinidad Tobago's team wasn't playing a clean game either. They were fighting tooth and nail the whole way. Hell, one of their players got two yellows and the subsequent red (ejection) and another pulled a yellow as well. Sweden only got one yellow card.
