New York Yankees vs. Los Angeles Dodgers​
The 2024 MLB postseason will be broadcast across a variety of networks, and the World Series will be broadcast on FOX. All games on TNT Sports platforms, FOX and FS1 will be available to MLB.TV subscribers who are authenticated subscribers to those networks via a participating pay TV provider. The 2024 MLB postseason continues with drama and spectacle for all. Four teams remain after the Phillies, Royals, Padres and Tigers were eliminated in the League Division Series. The Yankees put away the Guardians in a hard-fought five-game ALCS triumph and will face Dodgers in the World Series after L.A. ousted the Mets in six games.

Dodgers-Yankees World Series tickets top $1,300 on resale market
StubHub said sales outpaced last year's final figures and are four times higher than the pace of the 2022 Series. Sales for Games 3-5 in New York are 40% higher than for Games 1, 2, 6 and 7 in Los Angeles. Vivid said the average price of tickets it sold was $1,302 for Game 1 on Friday, $1,392 for Game 2 on Saturday, $1,443 for Game 3 at Yankee Stadium and $1,389 for Game 4 on Oct. 29. It did not disclose a figure of how many tickets it sold.

Seeking their 28th title, the Yankees are in the World Series for the first time since winning the 2009 championship. Boone replaced Joe Girardi ahead of the 2018 season, and his teams were eliminated in the 2019 and 2022 American League Championship Series, the 2018 and 2020 division series and the 2021 wild-card game.

Dodgers versus Yankees is the most common World Series matchup in baseball history, as they're meeting for the 12th time this October. But their latest clash is unusual in a couple of respects. That history began when the Dodgers were still in Brooklyn, their home for the first seven of those World Series battles before the franchise moved to L.A. in 1958. The Yankees won six of those and also won in back-to-back years in 1977 and 1978. They last met in 1981 -- Fernando Valenzuela's memorable rookie season. Valenzuela's shadow will now loom over this World Series after his death on Tuesday, a reminder not only of his significance to the Dodgers and the Latin American community in Los Angeles, but of the last time these two historical franchises met with everything on the line.
