I am trying to figure out what's going on with the characters on Arrow and decided to read this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Canary and that made me wonder... Do they ever let comic book characters grow old and die?
The love affair between Green Arrow and Black Canary was great in the 70s when they were both in the Justice League. Before the Crisis on Infinite Earths reboot in 1983.
When I read that wiki I came to a part where they said something about her being 83 years old, and that's why they transferred her memories into her daughter or SOMETHING. That's what made me wonder. They don't seem to care that Batman is OLD AS FUCK.
They let characters age when it's convenient for them, as a plot device. It usually means they've run out of stories to tell.
DC has been the most ridiculous in this sense, having rebooted their entire universe (including revising the origin stories of their core characters) no less than 3 times.
