The Christmas season is not over yet

The Twelve Days of Christmas is probably the most misunderstood part of the church year among Christians who are not part of liturgical church traditions. Contrary to much popular belief, these are not the twelve days before Christmas, but in most of the Western Church are the twelve days from Christmas until the beginning of Epiphany.

That's not nice to do in someone else topic Messy.

No wonder so many people hate you. No courtsey or respect.

Christmas isn't technically over until the Feast of the Epiphany, or Little Chritmas, on Jan. 5. This is the proverbial "Twelfth Day of Christmas" famed in song, when the 3 kings arrived at the manger to give the baby Jesus their gifts of perfume, lotion and bling.

That sounds totally perverse.

That's right, and that's why it's so annoying when everyone starts celebrating Christmas after freakin' Halloween and wraps everything up after dinner on December 25th.

My family and I keep our decorations up until Epiphany, and we'll be exchanging small gifts during the twelve days next Christmas.
