I've read the first book (and I'll read the others) and it's good. Don't know if the show will be good but supposedly SyFy has spent a lot of money on it (there's a lot of space stuff in the books.)

Miller in particular doesn't look how I imagined him at all (I pictured the mall detective who arrested Bart for stealing Bonestorm). But maybe they said he was a catwalk model at some point in the book and I just missed it.

It's been a bit too long since I read the books for me to figure out who all of the others are on sight, but it looks like a decently budgeted production. I like that the trailer doesn't really give away any plot details. Hopefully still enough to interest people though.

I saw people complaining that Holden was too "pretty" even though Naomi calls him "pretty" about four times in the book.

Special effects look good for Syfy.

It does look very promising. I hope they manage to capture the world building side of things as well as they suggest. One of the things I liked about the books was that it did feel like there was a very interesting, complex backdrop, even if it was only ever described in broad strokes, rather than the (IMO too much) detail of authors like Iain Banks.

Still expect the characters to be pretty people who can't move their faces, but we'll see.
