My sincere sympathies to BDM and his beloved Phillies, whose Wild Card postseason hopes were dashed in the last week of regular season play.

Now, onto an interesting factoid:

The NY Mets and NY Yankees finished with IDENTICAL records! Not just Wins/Losses, but also Home vs. Away records. That's just scary. They also clinched the best record in their respective leagues, meaning there are no bragging rights to be had until the postseason plays itself out.

Personally, I hope the Yankees go down in a bus crash on the way to their first game, but that's just me. I want to see a Mets-Oakland World Series, so that the Mets can exact their revenge for getting their asses kicked by the A's in '73. FUCK YEAH!

Chin up BDM, Ryan Howard still has a shot for MVP...so who do you like in the playoffs?

The National League is teh fucked. Not one single team impresses me on the senior circuit, including the Mets.

Anybody but the Yankees.

The phillies and the Eagles suck. They got totally pwnd by the Giants two weeks ago. HILLARIOUS!!
 
^^ANNNND they came back and dismantled the 49ers and crushed the elderly Brett Favre and the FudgePackers!

They done it to me again, Eggsy. They fucking had a half-game lead going into the last week, and they let a bunch of losers (The Nationals) beat them twice. They ended up 2 games behind in the wild card. Seriously, that's it, I'm done being anything but a fairweather fan of the Phillies. The Eagles only play 16 regular-season games, so it's easy to figure out early on when they suck, but I still watch 'em. At least they try. The Phillies had a fire sale in August then decided, "Hey, let's go out and play like we don't care" and they fucking tore it up.

They do it every year. Either they have an AMAZING April-June and then they SUCK July-Sept, or, worse, they start of terribly, then start off after the all-star break like gangbusters, but come up juuuuuust short. It's been 13 fucking years of this. I'll watch the games when there's nothin' better on, but I think I'll be watching more summer series and reality shows next year.

As far as the playoffs, not sure. Anyone but the FUCKING NEW YORK YANKEES, that's for damned sure. If the Mets make it to the series, I'll root for them. Right now, I gotta go with the Dodgers, since I'll be moving out thataway next summer.

If it's any consolation, the Nat's beat up the Mets pretty bad as well in September. They were on a roll.

What is this football you speak of? Is it another sport that happens when baseball ends?
