The Michigan Hand

So I am sitting at the table with this other guest at the B&B I am staying at and she is from Michigan, I know this because she says so and she puts up her hand and shows me where she is from. "That is cute" I think. "I've heard of people doing this, but I have never seen it before" But then she continues to do it to show where she has traveled and moved and it just becomes ridiculous. So I wonder, if I lived in Florida would it be appropriate for a guy to pull down his pants and show which part of the state he lives in?
