The new Magnum PI

I saw 1 episode. A bit like nuHawaii 5-O--stylish and slick, but the story was very sloppy with some huge holes in it. But it does capture a lot of the feel of the old series.
 
No. In the episode I watched, there was a flashback to him leaving the SEALs or whatever, where he's shaving off his giant Afghanistan special forces beard and he looks at the moustache in the mirror for a second or two before shaving it off.
 
Higgins is Perdita Weeks (a girl) who I liked in Penny Dreadful.

But I watch too many shows to add a Magnum PI reboot.
 
...and he could take a telephone call from a disconnected handset for a cord phone while standing in the ocean.

It's too bad all those time travellers are going back and erasing your memories of tv shows rather than killing Hitler.
 
Of course if they killed Hitler they'd create an alternate timeline where none of those shows ever existed anyway.
 
I watched the first episode because I was tired and lying down on the couch and didn't want to move and it's easy to watch things on demand these days. It wasn't bad. It was funny how he had three friends in the pre-credits scene but only two were in the opening credits and I thought "something bad's going to happen to the bald guy" then he died right away. It was perfectly fine undemanding tv but I won't go out of my way to watch any more if I have other stuff to watch.
