So it's "let's take out all the humour and make his suit black" and somehow that's supposed to be better?

Well it's hard to judge from a trailer exactly how far they'll take the satire... But at least it can't be worse than RoboCop 3!

It looks as though they're going to attempt to give the characters a bit more depth than the original had, so that's positive. I think it's a pity there won't be the level of violence that the original had, as it raised the stakes somewhat. If people get killed by being shredded by mechs you really freak out when they're in trouble. Oh and the black suit looks stupid, but it's possible it's only used briefly. The blue version looks good.

not sure if there's going to be anything quite as brutal as paul ver hoven at his 80s peak, but i hope they try

In the special edition they keep shooting until they blow his entire arm off.

Also Mr Kenny gets repeatedly shot while he is on the table, until eventually he is nothing more than a human shaped puddle of blood, which makes the "someone call a medic" when ED209 finally runs out of bullets even funnier.

Look, okay, I just want to point out that RoboCop has mid-word capitalization, so I don't want to see any of this "Robocop" bullshit. This is serious.

Thrax Annorax was in "Robocop". Then he played one of the young Spock's (from STIII:TSFS) pappy in that Mork from Ork flick from '89, with the old doc from St. Eligius who was Picard's prof in his college days. Then there was Captain Jellico, and Admiral John Frederick Paxton Alexander Marcus, the protagonist of "Robocop".
