The Spirit

Dark Pickle

Fucked Off
I liked it. A lot.

Not sure how accurate it was, since I only read a few of the comics, and that was years ago, but I'm sure Frank Miller was respectful to the source material, considering how long he's been making funnybooks his damnself. Was also glad to see he could stand on his own as a director, even if he borrowed a few devices from his Sin City flick.Samuel L and Eva were both gold. As was the lead, who reminded me a LOT of Judge Rienhold. Got halfway through before I realized the commish was the dad from the Wonder Years. Avove all, this movie was FUNNY (or else I'm easily amused) esp the henchmen.

I thought it was cheesy as hell, no plot, bad one liners.
It's attempt at comedy had me thinking it might be a good idea to walk out not waiting for the end.

And his annoying habit of continuous self monologues!

"Ronin", or possibley "Batman: Year One" is the last thing Frank Miller did that was worth a damn, IMO. This is why I'm reticent about seeing this film.

[Ouch. It's pulling a 15% over at Rotten Tomatoes. That means it's rottener than a $10 hooker's cooch in Thailand during Fleet Week. ]

Once again, I'm the only one that liked something.

Either it's too easy to please me, or impossible to please you jaded bastards :P

Did it have any midgets? Because I'll cut a movie a lot of slack if they pack it with midgets.

And totally gratuitous nudity.

But not from the midgets.

I was pretty pumped about this.... but not anymore.

Think I'll wait for video. Last movie I saw was Twilight (NOT MY CHOICE!), and if I do two bad movies in a row, I'll probably give up on theaters altogether. :(

I'm not entirely convinced there ARE good vampire movies.

The 1992(?) "Dracula" was OK. "Interview With the Vampire" wasn't terrible. And you hear good stuff about the old Christopher Lee Hammer films, but I'm not entirely convinced this isn't poser nostalgia. But it could be that vampires work better as literary characters.

Oh and probably in emo LARPs.

Eh... I liked 'Interview With the Vampire.' 'Bram Stoker's Dracula' (the ~92 one) wasn't half bad, but that has more to do with Garry Oldman than the script.

Underworld and Blade were good action vampire movies.

And while not a movie, True Blood is pretty kick ass. :techman:

Tom Cruise was woefully miscast in "Interview with a Vampire." They needed to cast someone tall and blond.
