Forever Empress E
I haven't been eager to see this movie as it didn't get the best of reviews and I'm not a big Angelina Jolie fan - other than I adore her in the Tomb Raider movies. I like Johnny Depp but I'm liking him better as Captain Jack Sparrow these days and it is hard to see Depp as much else.
Anyway, I had a free rental and chose to see The Tourist.
I can see why the critics and the audience weren't too blown away with this movie. It is well crafted, Angelina Jolie is stunning, its set in Venice, there's a minor espionage/spy/thief kind of feel to it - all good stuff. The story is a little slow moving though. Depp is looking a little paunchy and worn - not at all the kind of leading man I'd pair up with Jolie. That was probably done on purpose. I liked the twist at the end. Not surprising but not necessarily expected either.
For a free rental, I give it a B+.
