There's not going to be any live feed at all, apparently

CaptainWacky

I want to smell dark matter
Not only no red button, 24 hour coverage, but NONE AT ALL. E4's schedule for the week BB starts is just the usual Freinds and Scrubs repeats. No live feed. None. They just want to kill it of completely.

WHAT'S THE FUCKING POINT.

There will still be the nightly highlights show, but no live feed at all (we used to get it all night and for a few hours during the day and you could watch 24 hours a day through interactive.)

That just sucks. Actually it doesn't make sense.

CBS makes money off all the web hits and the subscription fees to the live feed. If it weren't for all this side revenue, I doubt the show would have lasted this long on TV.

well, they didn't charger for it here, it was on tv (E4). They used to charge for 24 hour online live feed but they've ever stopped that.

Hopefully they'll at least continue the late night C4 coverage, even though there isn't usually much activity at that time.

How will you know if it's true when the loony ones say they were edited to only look loony??

(oh wait they all say that and are liars LOL)

Maybe the whole thing is a scam this year, and they only get actors in to film just the bits they need for the highlights, thus reducing the need to pay camermen and security guards 24 hours a day for three months

WOULDN'T surprise me...like how they go off to the hotel for a pizza when they're not filming during I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here...

Or like in the Apprentice when the person who gets fired is driven from the boardroom set all the way to that office block so they can be filmed leaving to get in the taxi home.

I can understand the fears over the conservatives hounding them over every little thing now, but if it were more profitable, the producers probably wouldn't care until they got arrested or something.

Maybe it's just the UK economic model. In the US, it makes more sense to do the live feeds, because it's a revenue generator. The crew is already there anyway, filming everything. It doesn't cost that much more to have a small side crew, picking scenes to show live (4 cams, but 2 cams are focusing on 1 scene each), and stream it to subscribers.

Real.com sells the SuperPass subscription for US$40 for a 3-month period (with automatic renewal), and they make it a pain in the ass to unsubscribe, so they probably make more money than they should. I've forgotten to unsub in time more than once.

YOU GUYS NEED TO BE MORE CAPITALIST!

Well we're use to have it for free. Nine yeasr we've had it. The only reason it's gone is for control. Someone on DS discovered that Endemol are still producing the live feed as normal as it's part of their deal with Channel 4, but Four are just choosing not to show it. It's going to kill the forums (4 have already closed down their official forum) because they thrive on having someone watching at all times so that "DARCY JUST SPAT ON LUCY'S BRA!!!" threads can pop up every three secons. There's not going to be any buzz around BB without live feed.

Does this mean that Endemol (or someone else) will run the live feed and start charging for it? Or that Endemol is going to keep filming and then maybe do a DVD after it's over? Or that Endemol will just sit there watching and wanking and no one else gets to see it?

The third one. Endemol just make it, only Four have the right to show it. They've charged for 24 hours online feed in the past but for some reason they're not even doing that.

That is weird considering the money they could make from it, but it's probably too late for them to change their minds now even if they wanted to.
