I want to smell dark matter
at 4:12 am, sally decided to tell her cat he was her best friend.
"hi mister cat! you're my best friend! yes you are! oh yes you are!" she said, in her fake mad voice. she'd been practicing a mad voice for when she finally went mad. it was bound to happen someday. you don't live the life of a madwoman for years without going mad. she knew that. she wasn't mad.
strangely though, her fake mad voice was starting to sound like her real voice.
"yes you are! YES YOU ARE. YOU'RE MY BEST FRIEND AND YOU'RE JUST A LITTLE CAT!" she tickled the cat. it didn't laugh. she had visions of it rolling on its back laughing with a happy look on its face as she tickled its belly. this did not happen. the cat seemed annoyed. she picked him up instead and held him right up against her face.
"this is the closest i'll ever get to a man!" she said. "HAHAHAHAHAHA!" she put the cat down. she didn't want to scare him. he really was a good good cat.
"you are my friend," she said, stroking him. "i love you." she stopped and the cat ran away. she watched it go. she stayed in the same position for another 28 minutes.
"what am i going to do when he dies?" she asked and started and crying. she was tried. so tired. eventually she was too tired to cry anymore. too tired to sleep as well, of course.
the cat came back in with a mouse. he was all dirty. he'd had a whole adventure outside while sally had been just sitting ther.e she stared at him bleary eyed. he dropped the mouse in front of her and miaowed up at her.l
"for me?" said sally, crying agani. "a present for me? because i said i love you? you are the best cat in the world!" she got down on all fours and nuzzled up against her beloved cat. she looked at the mouse. it was dead, but the cat hadn't torn it up. it was in one piece. for her.
"how tasty!" she said and she snatched it in her mouth in one movement. she didn't quite know what to do...she bit into it. it didn't taste so bad. it didn't taste like anything....well, it was a bit bitter. she chewed. she tried to swallow. it got stuck in her throat. she cought and coughed. t he cat nuzzled against her as she lay on the floor coughing. finally it came dislodged. she lay there, distress, half a chewed up mouse on the floor. and finally she got some sleep.
