ROBOT STORY

________________________

Gog was one robot in a robot collective. They were all new robots. They had a regularly scheduled meeting at the robot meeting place. Gog found this helpful. He was struggling with life in the human world. He could perform his tasks perfectly, being a robot. But the loneliness...that he was struggling with. Humans were alien to him. He did not understand their ways.

After a few months the regular meetings were changed to wireless meetings, as the robots were expected to live in human society by this point with no physical contact to other robots. Still talking to others wirelessly was encouraged. It helped.

They had regular meetings and spoke a lot about human life. Gog found it helpful. He began to post poems to the group robot message board that he had written about humans. Other robots seemed to enjoy these poems a lot.

Time went by. The robot groupd discussions kept Gog going. He could stand being around humans as long as he had this outlet. The other robots didn't seem to have as many problems as him. They tried to help him. He did finally think he understood human behaviour. He just didn't want any part of it. He was Gog, a robot. He couldn't just act like a human to fit in. He had his robot friends to talk to anyway.

Time went by. Some of the other robots left fewer messages. Gog found this slightly annoying. He just left more messages himself to strike up more disccusion. It didn't seem to work. He found he was leaving more and more messages about his problems with humans whle the other robots were spending time with humans, socialising.

Some of them even began human/robot romantic relationships, which disgusted Gog.

Eventually none of the other robots showed up for the regular robot wireless meeting or even left any new messages. Gog realised he was all alone, a robot in a world of humans. He had to adapt or die.

He self destructed right away.

The next day the other robots showed up for the wireless meeting. They were worried aboug Gog. He'd been unable to track days recently. It seemed he'd wirelessly connected a day early for the last meeting. Where was he now?

The factory informed them that he had self destucted and they were deleting all his poetry.

The other robots were sad.

They forgot him soon.
