I want to smell dark matter
Noah felt strange. He'd been kicking Rose and it had felt right. She deserved punishment. How dare she not believe in him and his great work! How dare she say his ark was just a load of cardboard boxes stuck together. She had totally discounted that God's Will would hold it together then the Flood came. That was just obvious! How dare she doubt God. BITCH. She had deserved the beating...but then something had seemed to change. Like the air in the room had changed. And he'd stopped. God hadn't wanted him to hurt her anymore, he felt. It made sense. If he had damaged her womb, she wouldn't be able to carry his holy children!
He locked her in the room for her own saftey and went outside. He wanted to breathe some of God's air. Then, he felt the ground shake...and the sky went dark. What was happening? It wasn't like night. There were no stars. Everything felt different. He saw a woman run out onto the street. She looked terrified. Noah smiled at her.
He knew all this was for him.
God was teasing him! The floor wasn't as it had been before. It was an even greater challenge. Darkness! The whole planet, plunged into darkness. Soon the unworthy would start to die, he knew. They would turn on each other, kill each other. And he'd be safe in his ark with lovely Rose. He'd lead a new world order and the darkness would end.
"Thank you, God!" he said. "THANK YOU!" The woman heard him and looked at him like he was crazy. He decided to murder her. She was not worthy, clearly. But then her husband came running out and they both looked at the sky, terrified. Oh well. There would be time for them to die later. All would die. All but Noah.
"Rose, something wonderful has happened!" he said, going back into the ark room. Rose instantly tried to attack him with a pair of scissors. He was surprised, but he managed to block her. He wrestled with her, out of the room. He threw her down. She still has the scissors. She backed away, holding them. She ran for the door.
He began to laugh. He walked after her, slowly. She was standing there, just outside the house, staring up into the sky. There were strange lights in the sky now, lights in the darkness. Angels, Noah knew. She wouldn't understand.
He'd have to re-educate her.
He grabbed her from behind and put his hand over her mouth. She had dropped the scissors. He dragged her back to the ark.
"Oh Rose, I have so much to teach you," he said.
