According to an article from Slashdot, Ubuntu "Breezy Badger" 5.10 carries a very, very serious security flaw:

Anyone who has physical access to your machine and knows where to look can read your root password.

Well, since no one but my wife and me has physical access to the computer, I guess I'm safe. Presumably, they will correct this flaw in the next release?
 
Now that it's been identified and exposed, no doubt they will.
 
How long did it take?
 
About three seconds, since the fix was out yesterday.
 
Fixed, and certainly not a reason to avoid 5.10. I'm using it right now, and it's one of the better distros on the market, IMO, once fully tricked out.
 
I ordered the CDs a few days ago. gunna try it out on an old computer :)
 
They take forever to deliver those discs...that's how I got it.

Once you get it, upgrading to KDE desktop is pathetically easy though, and I recommend it since GNOME sucks ass.
 
It's easier to just Bittorrent and then burn the CDs.

I dunno about KDE. It's too bright and shiny for my tastes.
 
^I can wait for CDs. My net connection at uni won't allow P2P...
 
You can't just lower your d/l and u/l rates?
 
Nope, they've done some funky port blocking. I get around it by tunneling to my home connection, but I only use that for essential stuff.
