Thought #1

Our current economic troubles are a combination of far too few people making far too few products in this country and far too many lawyers suing each other over those products. As a result, when we purchase an $8 bottle of cleaner, we get 35 cents worth of cleaner, 12 cents worth of bottle, and $7.53 worth of lawyering. No wonder nobody wants to buy American products any more.

It's worse than that. Consumerism has always been built on the idea of supply and demand. The original thought was that as demand increased, more supplies would be created. Cheaper, better, faster.

That worked as long as gasoline was say....28 cents a gallon. I made a buck sixty an hour wherever I worked (that was minimum wage then). Rent was $35 a month. Mortgages less than that. 20 dollars bought a weeks worth of groceries for a family of four (2 adults and 2 kids, or any combination thereof)

This S&D economy is utterly destroyed. It's now a scarcity economy.

Quwait will run out in 2018 (think june of '14 at current and increasing consumption levels).

Iraq '18.

We'll be drilling out all the wilderness (just guessing)
