He only got jobs when his mother (Jeri Taylor) was producing. Once she left Voyager, there was no need to bring him back (because he was a crap actor.)

i am not familiar with this episode as it got a less than stellar rating in my Trek episode book entitled "Trek Navigator". i am downloading it now so i may judge for myself.
 
I thought The Most Toys was a great episode. Good guest star too.
