To all the geniuses here at Troll Kingdom, I have a Math question for you...

How do you raise a number to a numeric power using the long hand method?

ex 2 raised to the 3rd power equals 8

or 2 raised to the 13th power equals 8,192

how do you work this out without the use of a calculator?


and please do not answer "very carefully" I tried that and it didnt work

Simple. Just multiply it a ton of times, until the number of 2s matches the exponent. Like 2 to the third power is 2 * 2 * 2.

Is there a faster way?

like 2 to the 21st power = 2,097,152

mulitplying 2 (21 times) can be a real pain
