Well now! I have to say that today has been fascinating. Parallel worlds, clashing amidst a flurry of gay jokes, racial slurs, and puns.
Of Cranky's "ban", I will say this. Cranky broke a rule we have at TK. He got thrown in DayCare. The equivalent would have happened to any new poster here at TW had they posted bestiality. So I can offer no sympathy. Cranky can, however, petition to get out of DayCare by either starting a thread there or PMing an admin explaining that he has now read the rules and intends to respect them. I for one would like to see him posting out and about... he's a good kid.
The meat of today's experiment is a study in duality, in our case including some subtle differences.
When I posted at TW, I was the n00b with no clue. TWers were no doubt thinking, "Does he really think he trolled us? What a fucking moron - check this out - in his second post, 'Trolled you good.' Oh my god, does he even know what 'Troll' means? WHAT A FUCKING FAG!" The regulars at TW spoke confidently, and yucked it up.
When Cranky posted here, he was the n00b with no clue. Either he didn't read the rules or he didn't care (or he purposefully posted something that he knew would get him daycared, just so he could gloat, but that's another thread for discussion ) he was the guy we were all calling moron, idiot, etc.
Now I'm sure that both Cranky and I are (relatively) respected members of our respected communities. But out of our element, our reputation is nothing, and we are back to square one. I (maybe) could get away with posting a huge phallus in a thread no one would notice, and I'd bet that Cranky could get away with beast porn at TW. But on another board, we are reduced to nothing.
I mentioned subtle differences, and here's one that I've spotted. Feel free to add more, but the one I noticed right off was how Cranky said posting at TK was beneath him, he had grown out of it, what have you. I got him to change his mind through my low key trickery.
So, which site has the real deal? You tell me.
