Too Hot To Do Business?

Laker_Girl

Mrs. Big Dick McGee
So I was out an about in the record breaking heat last Saturday and while it was a little slice of hell on earth out there I swear I've been hotter. However, my city was damn near deserted. I found the best parking spaces everywhere I went and didn't have to wait at a notoriously busy local restaurant.

I looked over my work orders and checked my messages on Monday and it was looking pretty bare for the beginning of the week. I wasn't worried though, Tuesday is always our busiest day but when Tuesday came and went with barely three phone calls I knew this heat had kept pretty much the entire state indoors all weekend long.

It's been dead all week, I've been sitting at my desk for three and a half hours now and had exactly two phone calls. I've been able to reorganize my desk, clean out and store old files, print out and mail price lists and even dick around making our fall flyer. I hate busy work.

So has it been dead where you are?

It's been miserable here. We went out on Saturday just to go somewhere that had air conditioning. I haven't gotten hardly anything done for days because it's just too hot to think straight - forget about doing housework. If it's still hot on Friday, I may drive to the beach. The Pacific Ocean is nice and cold, and at least the car has air conditioning!

Somewhat. I get calls for stock orders an average of 10 a day in the summer months. It gets busier when the rich folks come back from vacations when the kids are in school.

Take lots of showers.

Unfortunetly no.

Over the weekend, there was a large storm in Fort Lee, and lightning hit two of the buildings in a complex we installed fire and security systems in. These buildings aren't grounded...

$25,000.00 Worth of equipment exploded when the surge hit it.

We've been scrambleing all week to get things back up and running, while the building's BoD is trying to sue our company.

Most of these buildings dont have AC and it wouldn't matter as most of what blew up was attached to the outside of the building.

Thats why I LOVE working Graveyard ;)

The heat doesn't affect the hearing impaired, so therefore, my job doesn't suffer. But I do have to hear about the fucking weather all day long on tv.

As far as England goes, it's bloody hot, in the early 30's. Yes, I know that probably sounds average to many, but to us, that's fucking hot.

I wish it were dead where we are-and some of us work outside-you would think they would have compassion because its so hot.
Tonight is finally cooled off-I think people will finally get some good sleep tonight-or good sex, and then will not be so grumpy in the morning.
