A robot on a joke, 2 season space adventure that was designed to be a piss take of all the space stuff in the first place?

I suspect you are being a Contrary Mary Whisky. I don't mind admitting I do it myself sometimes, but this is TOO IMPORTANT!

I was trying to just cover all the bases at the top of the thread so that we don't end up with a list full of "the Marilyn Monroe bot from that one episode of Red Dwarf" and "that time Homer had a dream where Marge was a robot." There's lot of great character we could add before resorting to intentionally adding bad characters as a joke.

ON THE OTHER HAND I don't want people to worry too much about their entries. I could have called the thread "the one hundred favourite robots, etc" instead. Because we're never all going to agree on who the "best" characters are and if we had a debate over every entry we'd end up with like a top twelve and the I'd say "FUCK OFF EVERYONE" and lock the thread.

So just use common sense/your best judgement.

Twiki was in two full seasons of Buck Rogers and was at crotch level with Wilma Deering, that alone should get his place on the top 100.

Hell apart from the holographic doctor he has been in more hours of sci fi than anyone on the list so far.
 
After we reach 100, we can still keep going with an "Honorable Mention" section for all the other entries that maybe we sat on because we were thinking they might not be worthy. Or just other ones we forgot along the way.

For example, I'm gonna sit on the Small Wonder girl because that was crap. But it would be nice to have a place to put her eventually.
 
I wasn't really sure who to credit with creating Optimus Prime. Bob Budiansky wrote most of the orginal character profiles and created much of the mythos, but according to him it was Denny O'Neil who named the character (O'Neil doesn't remember this.) And of course the toy originally comes from the Japanese Diaclone line where his name was 'Battle Convoy' but I couldn't be bothered finding out who actually created that. Also I confusingly used an image from the toy's box art but I do mean the character from the original cartoon and comic book to be on the list.
