The thing with a lot "outspoken atheists", is that they tend to be as hypocritical as the religious people they claim to criticize, and have absolutely no tolerance in regards of faiths and their adherents.

Furthermore, a lot of them do not no objectively assess of the effect that religions (particularly the Abrahamic religions) had on modern societies, from a moral standpoint. I am talking about the theology, the crux of teachings, and not the way they are applied. Your average atheist quote goes along the lines of : "religion sux. i have big brainz. lol"

I also dislike the arrogance with which a lot of "outspoken atheists" claim to monopolize wisdom and intellect.

With that said, I would pick 9) and 13) as my favourites of the bunch.

It seems to me that several of the quoted people weren't atheists but rather had problems with the established churches. Franklin and Clemens, for example, don't strike me as non-believers -- and Lloyd Wright's quote looks squarely of agnosticism, not atheism. In fact, Clemens was a Presbyterian.

And he'd like to show me so my life won't go astray

The cuts on me they run much deeper
Holyman, you righteous man
I've been shown the way a thousand times
Not one a keeper
