george orwell brought up the idea of "thought crime" in his novel 1984, written in 1948.

1984 was set in a distopian society riddled with paranoia, state control, and corruption - sound familiar ?

now thought crime has become a reality, people are locked away for decades in prison for the thoughts they had of doing something undesirable as judged by the government.

so.. if i wanted to monitor potential dissidents for their thought crimes i'd set up a site called something like.. TrollKingdom.net

then i'd let people voice off their alienated views in a seemingly free-for-all environment

i'd track their ip addresses back through their isps, legally forcing the isps to co-operate, and then i'd have a nice list of suspected "undesirables" for surveillance. it's called national security.

this might all sound a little paranoid, but i think you can be pretty sure the authorities would want to listen in to a site that sold itself as a haven for society's disaffected, the government has the money to employ intelligent people and, after all, you don't have to be that smart to fuck with people, just a little bit smarter than they are..

most of the active posters are from britain though

and the founder was from Canada or something.

i wasn't being country specific,

i'm in the uk myself,

we have some of the most draconian anti-terrorist laws going,

you can be detained here for virtually anything undesirable for 28 days without any actual charge

There's a hole in your tinfoil, btw...too late to prevent me from finding out, through my contacts in the UK technocracy, that you've often lulled yourself to sleep at night with thoughts about fucking your neighbor's cat.

From what I've seen, you're really flattering yourselves if you fancy yourselves radical dissidents.

like they say "fighting for peace is like fucking for virginity"

no, here is the truth:

1. your only duty is to be happy, with all that entails

2. there is nothing else

but we are constantly shovelled by the government into unhappy miserable spaces, hating our lives and hating who they want us to hate, etc

so.. the government is wrong, they are capitalist anti-humanitarian twisters

so draw your own conclusions, clue: capitalism doesn't make us happy

AMEN to the last point. but Capitalism makes us alot happier than how commmunisms been implemented so far.

communism in the ussr was "everyone is equal, but some are more equal than others"

for further reading i commend george orwell's "animal farm"

although i dislike referring to a messed up smorgasbord of ideas like the bible, capitalism was referred to there as "usuary" - it was a sin. and to compound that i draw your attention to the reported fact that the only group jesus ever physically attacked was the bankers (money lenders) in the temple at jerusalem.

Seeing as how you seem to have recently discovered Orwell, I'm guessing you're, what, 14 years old? Maybe 17 with the benefit of the doubt.

Because if you're older than this, and you imagine all these trenchant revelations will appear shiny and new to the likes of us...goddamn, you aren't going to need anybody's help to be completely fucked.

No, see, he's faking his ignorance and general stupidity to TROLL us all.

IRL he's actually Slavoj Zizek, legendary Slovenian philosopher and thinker.
