You might have heard about this game that recently came out, Elden Ring. It's been a bit of a big deal. Having never played a Souls game before, I have to say, I did not know what I was getting myself into. I thought it was going to be something more like an Elder Scrolls game. Right up until I created my character and walked out into the world for the first time and got my ass handed to me immediately. And then again and again. And then some more. After spending some time getting my bearings though, it's turning out to be a pretty great game. Very cool scenery, tons of space to explore, and no shortage of weird creatures to encounter. I bet that team would be a lot of fun to eat hallucinogens with.
There will inevitably be spoilers in this thread. I'll do my best to hide the ones I share behind tags, but be advised, you might accidentally read something story related about the game here and if you're trying to play through it blind... well you're already making poor decisions because this is a thread on an internet forum about the game so of course there is a strong possibility the conversation drifts to specifics within the game.
So far, I've discovered most of what I think there is to find in Limgrave.
is an asshole and remains alive for the moment.
are dead though, and holy fuck it took more attempts than I care to admit for both. I have the maps for
and I'm trying to now make sure all the areas before heading north from Stormveil are all explored to the point where I have all the sites of Grace. Well... except for one particular area of Caelid that I don't feel like starting a fight in. I don't need all the graces in that area yet.
Have to admit, I was frustrated initially with the difficulty and also how vague the whole story is. And I still feel like they should give you a little bit more info about the lore in the beginning of the game. It's a bit like finding yourself suddenly in a waking nightmare - you don't know how you got there, you don't know anything about where you are, shit has clearly gone wrong, and you just start moving forward and figuring it all out as you go. But, that being said,
And that's where I've made it so far.
Edit: The spoiler tags format themselves differently than I anticipated. I regret nothing.

Agheel
Margit and Godrick

the lore dump you get back at the Roundtable once you take out Godrick and talk to the old creepy fortune teller lady was a fantastic payoff
