UNRIVALED BASKETBALL LEAGUE
Unrivaled is a women's professional three-on-three basketball league based in the United States.​

The league was founded in 2023 by Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart, in part to allow WNBA players to play domestically and to bypass complications from the WNBA's prioritization rule for players who choose to play overseas in the WNBA offseason. A league built in collaboration with the biggest stars in women's basketball. Tipping off in Miami, January 2025. The team names are the Laces Basketball Club, Lunar Owls Basketball Club, Mist Basketball Club, Phantom Basketball Club, Rose Basketball Club and Vinyl Basketball Club.

For much of the WNBA's history, its best players have left home as soon as the season ended to go play overseas, often for more money. Only in recent years, with the arrival of higher salaries and better endorsement deals, has that trend started to change.

The season will last for eight weeks, including the playoffs. There will be two games on each game night, and the six teams will play each other in a round-robin format. The top-four teams in the standings will advance to the playoffs. A playoff format has not yet been announced.

'Unrivaled' Women's Basketball League Expands Rosters Ahead of Inaugural Season​

With North America as bullish on women's sports as it has ever been, expansion can be seen everywhere—from the WNBA to the NWSL to the PWHL. Now, the expansion wave has been taken to its logical conclusion: a new women's sports league is making plans to expand before it even begins play. The league is offering salaries in excess of $100,000, marketed as the largest for any women's sports league in history. For comparison's sake, the WNBA league minimum this season was about $64,000.

What to know about Unrivaled, the new basketball league filled with WNBA stars​

WNBA fans won't have to wait until next season to see many of the league's top players compete. A new women's basketball league called Unrivaled is set to debut months before the 2025 WNBA season kicks off. Unrivaled was founded by a pair of WNBA stars in the Minnesota Lynx's Napheesa Collier and the New York Liberty's Breanna Stewart. And since the league was announced in May, a long list of big names from the W have committed to joining. So, when will the first Unrivaled games be played? And who's suiting up?
