Was Short Circuit 2 better than Short Circuit?

The Tomtrek

Love Wookiee
I mean the first film is often regarded as 'the classic' and it has that scene where Steve Guttenberg plays the piano with the robot hand and that other scene where Johnny 5 sees Ally Sheedy in the bath and is like "NICE TITS", but I think in retrospect the sequel offers deeper characterisation into the nature of Number "Johnny" 5 and his place in the world.

Also it had that awesome scene where he goes mad and turns into a punk.

That scene is actually genuinely awesome. I was kind of scared by angry Johnny Five.

It is really werid that I never noticed until now that the Indian guy is played by the white best friend from Early Edition.

Did I ever make a controversial "I didn't really like Wall-E all that much" thread? (It got better when they got to the spaceship with the fat people.)

That video does want me to vote for Short Circuit 2 but as I haven't seen the original in many years I just don't know what to do.

I assume everyone knows they are remaking short circuit, but want Johnny 5 to look much more threatening and scarey this time round.

You know that won't happen, and Seth Rogen or some fuck like that will voice him.

Nah, it'll be Seth Green and he'll be really cool and Jessica Biel will fall in love with him.

I wasn't too fussed about Wall-E either. His relationship with EVE was kinda weird, because she started out as a mother figure who kept looking after the little idiot, and then gradually became a love interest. I did like the stuff with the fat people, though. That was a pretty good scifi concept for a family movie.

Yeah the "robots in love" stuff didn't work for me. R2 and 3PO were far effective with just a stolen glance.

Did the first film have a scene with Johnny Five talking to one of his fellow robots but it was just a mindless killing machine and Johnny Five got sad or something?
