I want to smell dark matter
Firstly, I haven't played a Doom game in years IF EVER so I don't know how accurate to the games the movie was.

Secondly, it sucked.

I mean, it was all pretty boring. And dark. Not dark in tone, dark in that there was little lighting. The first person perspective sequence, while silly, was certainly the best part of the movie...but you have to wait 90 minutes for it. The acting was bad, not just from The Rock, but particularly the pervy marine who was like an unfunny version of Quagmire from Family Guy. Umm, I can't remember much more and I only watched it a few hours ago. I guess if you like people shooting monster-things you'd like it.
 
My friend watched it and I quizzed him about it when he got back from the cinema and he said the same thing. The first person bits were quite cool but the movie was lame.


I'll probably watch it just because the Rock is in it one day a long time from now.
 
I don't believe I will ever watch that film, out of a love and respect for the games. Just watching the trailer you could tell that it was going to suck... they changed the entire premise of the flick! It wasn't mutant DNA that made Doom great, it was demons from fucking HELL.

And a chainsaw.
 
There's only one first person "bit" that I recall and it just made me want to play the game, really.
