Watched King Kong

IT WAS TOO FUCKING LONG!

And no, not because I'm from the "MTV ADH LOVES KEWL EXPLOSIONS LOL" generation, just because IT WS TOO FUCKING LONG.

There was so much stuff that could be trimmed out: The dinosaur stampede (which looked stupid), lots of stuff from the first hour, the ship crashing went on a bit and MOST OF ALL the ENDLESS shots of a character (usually Darrow) staring at something in awe. I mean there must have been about 20 minutes of screentime just of Darrow staring at Kong in awe. We get it, Naomi Watts is beautiful and Kong is awe-imspiring. STOP IT! It was worst of all in the ending, where Kong kept surviving just to stare at Anne for another 30 seconds each time. Really ruined what could have been a sad ending because I was shouting "JUST DIE ALREADY" at the big soft bastard.

Not to say this was a bad movie or anything, all the acting was great, the CGI was mostly top notch, Kong was the "bomb diggity" and the t-rex fight was spectacular...just too fucking long. I'll never doubt Laker Girl again.

I've not see it yet, but nearly everybody I know who has have said the first hour is awful - nothing happens, and it ruined the movie for some of them.

I am going on Saturday to see it. I am dreading the three hours since it's not a movie that needs that kinda length.

They let you drink beer in the cinema here. And they have an intermission. Lucky becuase I wouldn't be able to handle it otherwise.

It is quite good and you'll enjoy it on the whole...don't expect the subplot with the black guy and the young guy to go ANYWHERE though.
