SBV told me it was good and he wasn't wrong! I remember it getting bad reviews and it has a low score on IMDB and I can't really understand why. It wasn't great but it certainly wasn't a bad movie It was wathbahbljas

there were some continuity eroors and some bit swere confusing (like this post) but it didn't ruint he movie

IT DID NOT SUCK!

I 'spected it to be bad but it was totally not. One of the things I think we've lost is how fucking scary those kids stories are and I like this movie for that fact first and foremost. Little Red Riding Hood? Scary as hell. Gingerbread man? Not so funny.

So anyway the Brothers Grimm was good-to-great if you're someone (like me) who really likes the "childhood isn't all fun and soccer practice" kind of people.

If you liked this movie, then I recommend the Ray Bradbury books about how kids know darkness and not just innocence - "Something Wicked This Way Comes" jumps out.
 
YES I did like it and I see what you mean, Tolkien got really angry at the debasing of "fairy stories" and turning elves into little delicate creatures and and stuff read SMITH OF WOOTTON MAJOR maybe or something it's not really anything like the Brothers Grimm at all actually do forget I said that GINGERBREAD MAN MAID ME SOIL MYSELF.

Yeah, I liked that the movie got the point across about "fairy tales" as recorded by The Brothers Grimm were, - well, grim!
Kids can handle it! Look at the success of the Lemony Snicket books! An entire series of unfortunate events!

The two hero's attempts at comedy shtick sucked tho.
