Wesley Crusher's got an eye for the ladies!

LOL THE TRAVELLER WILL BE JEALOUS, WACKY!

Wesley is the mack daddy

oh yeah, I've read some of those. He is really good.

Oh dear.. even in the last movie they still can't manage to write a scene where he isn't fucking annoying. It's a shame because Wil Wheaton seems like a really nice guy. Why couldn't they have stopped at "are you looking forward to serving on the Titan?" instead of all that engine bollocks and double take and the not very attractive girl?

Well it wasn't in the movie for a reason (Berman hates Wheaton!)

It's like they made it crap so they could say "well, we gave you a chance, but we can't put that in". BASTARDS

Nemesis is on telly tonight, FYI!

I noticed...eww.

It gets better with age. OK NOT REALLY BUT IT'S STILL STAR TREK AND MUST BE WATCHED.

I used to think that way before I faced the harsh realities of Trek and life. :(

yeah.. I probably wouldn't watch it if it was on here. I'D RATHER SPAM

I'd rather spam than watch FIVE of the Trek movies (probably.)

I would put spamming aside long enough to watch Wrath of Khan though.

YES, and cry when Shatner says "his was the most...human."

LOL.. yes, yes I would.

I love the way Shatner looks like a horse chomping on some hay when he says that line.

Having watched Nemesis again, I like the slickness of the production. It looks glossy and the effects are as good as in most other movies of the time, but it's the writing and some direction that's lacking. The main characters (other than Picard and Data of course) really take a backseat. Beverly gets barely two speaking scenes and she's only there to push the plot along, there's no character development at all. A lot of the problems in it are things only fans would pick up on, though. General viewers wouldn't notice how bits of the plot have been nicked from previous films, or how Starfleet wouldn't really used dune buggies when they had shuttles, or how the Enterprise suddenly has a gigantic chasm which shouldn't be there, or how the Romulan Star Empire has virtually infinite resources when compared to the Remans and yet it's the Remans who build a massive ship that can fire while cloaked, something that no one else has ever successfully managed.

Stuart Baird sucks.

And besides, the amount of things wrong with Nemesis are so numerous and varied that there isn't a short list of fixes that would have made it better.

When I think about Nemesis I tend to need an asprin but I can't even allow it to become canon in my mind even though it is.

It was just a bad movie from start to finish.

Wezlon rules supreme though.

I was thinking while watching it "is there any way to turn this movie around just by cutting certain bits out and adding deleted scenes?" There are a few bits, like some of that Wesley scene(which gives Beverly some precious lines), the removal of some of those "funny" bits, like Worf saying Romulan ale should be banned, and most of the retarded crap B4 comes out with. But it can't really be saved. It's the key areas of the plot that are most at fault. Sometimes in movies you can let that go because there are clever details that lift it up, but in Nemesis it's the little niggles that finish it off.

The problem with Nemesis is that there was nothing at stake. Well, there was because we were told there was but it didn't translate on screen.

Who cares about some clone of Picard we have never heard of?

In Generations and First Contact there was a tangible and direct line to the characters we knew and the events in the film impacted these characters and as fans of TNG we understood the motivations and dynamics of the crew.

In Insurrection and Nemesis that connection just didn't shine through and the movies became pointless and worst of all forgettable.

Add to that contrived set-pieces and "comedy" moments that failed on every level and you are well on your way to laying another nail in the coffin of the franchise.
