Western nations foiled a bid by Arab and Islamic states on Friday to declare Israel's reputed nuclear arsenal a threat that must be removed in a politically charged vote at a U.N. atomic watchdog meeting.>p>Canada sponsored a 45-29 "no-action" ballot that prevented International Atomic Energy Agency member states from voting on a motion demanding Israel use atomic energy only for peaceful purposes and help set up a Middle East nuclear arms-free zone.

Israel neither admits nor denies having atomic weapons but most experts believe it has about 200 nuclear warheads.

From the French, actually. But yes, it's primarily our government that makes sure the double-standard goes unchallenged.

Probably the easiest thing for an arab country to do is to smuggle a nuke into Israel, and then make sure one of their rivals is blamed for it. That way Israel nukes the rival in response, and the remaining Arab theocracies takes over the rest of the Middle East.
