True. But there is a level of futility unmatched in all of professional sports. Through 2009, the Philadelphia Phillies are the professional sports team with the most losses in all of sports. Their total won/lost record is 9,035 wins, 10,162 losses. They are the only American sports franchise to keep the same name since inception, in 1883. In 127 years they've won TWO Championships (1980, 2008). And I love them, God help me how I love them.
