Forever Empress E
I'm about to have a cup of coffee and do my financial stuff - bring checkbook up to date, pay bills. Then, I'm going feast shopping for Thanksgiving. That is as soon as I can get this cat out of my lap. She's lying there like a baby, hanging on to my jacket, and purring something fierce. Spoiled bratty thing.

Slept in today. Went and got some Chinese for lunch and some folding chairs for Thursday. One of my brothers is bringing everything for Thanksgiving. Just need to do some house cleaning the next few days....hopefully starting tommorrow.

Awwww
I woke up feeling crappy
but I rested, showered
and finally re-arranged my room.
Since mid-terms it has been like a storm in here, and then we had electrical issues-so I had to bring everything away from the walls. I FINALLY MOVED IT ALL BACK TODAY!
WOOO HOOOO!
All this because I cancelled my Sunday Morning date.

I miss having a kitty in my lap.

I miss not having one on my lap. I love the kitties, really, honestly I do. But, they are so spoiled. They really do think my purpose in life is to be at their beck and call, to keep them supplied with wet food and roasted chicken.

I like how the little one, Domino, tries to figure out how to get the treadmill and the recumbent bicycle to work. I was on the treadmill one night when she decided to get on it and walk with me. Nearly killed us both.

Tonight is work on NaNoWriMo piece night with a writing group that meets at a coffee shop across town, then stopping by the grocery store before going home and doing a load of laundry. At least there is a four day weekend coming up.

Are you excited?

Yes I am. My brother not so much. He was grumpy and sulky all day today because we had to do a big food order that took us all afternoon, and then we ate dinner, said a rosary and washed the dishes, and he was concerned he wouldn't be able to get to the library to use their computer or use my computer tonight. I have to reassure him everyday that he'll be able to use my computer while I'm watching my TV shows. He seems to be already upset that the library will be closed Thursday-Sunday and he won't get any time on the computer this weekend, despite me telling him that he can use it while I catch up on some movies while most of my shows are on hiatus this weekend.

I think that is cool you are involved with your church. I've been trying to reconnect with my religious roots. I keep trying to go to church but even after all these years it freaks me out the closer I get to the door. Did go to a class at the neighborhood Buddhist temple last Saturday. The whole time I'm sitting there looking at the statues on the altar that takes up the entire back side of the huge assembly room I'm thinking hell is about to open up and swallow me whole because I'm in a place where they worship idols. Thankfully, that didn't happen. The class was wonderful, meeting the Buddhist nun speaker after was very nice, and the food during the session break was good too. I'm planning on going back for a series of classes and meditation. All together non-threatening, terrifying, scary, or frightening, but overall accepting and welcoming.

Being a lapsed Catholic, I am used to worshiping idols. Some of my more religious Catholic relatives even have the little ones on their dash board - kind of like the hula girl only with robes in place of the grass skirt.

What kind of involvement? You going to become a nun?

Priest. Possibly. Going to submit my name for a priest candidate retreat with the Bishop in January(13th) and see what happens from there.

Of course it may never happen since according to CaptainWacky it will never be January 13th.:D

Good luck to you. The hardest part will be the family, friends, and people you know who won't accept the changes you will be making in your life. I wish you all the best.

Congratulations, Lok. May your dream come true.

Thanks, Enke. My mom is being a bit of a Debbie Downer about it lately. First she was all like go for it if you want and then she was like go for it if you want but you might get rejected because of your pre-diabetes. Either way, you'll get a nice relaxing retreat out of it. GAH!!!
