What did Boos look like when they were alive?

Creator Shigeru Miyamoto got the idea for Boo from the wife of his co-worker and close friend Takashi Tezuka, as she is shy but one day got very angry at him for coming home late from work.

He's a laugh a minute!

Strangely, in Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour, Boo hits right-handed, but in the Mario Baseball series, it hits left-handed.

That IS strange!

In Mario tennis, Boo hits right-handed BUT THEN THEY ALL DO oh well.

Boo's don't actually exist, they're a manifestation of Mario's self loathing. Whenever they can they try and destroy Mario - as a representation of his hatred of himself - but whenever they see his face they hide, because deep down Mario cannot face his true self.

Dry Bones are real, though.
