What was the point of the cockney gangster in SCC?

I mean he comes in to the mexican place, where teh guy still hasnt got a shirt, gets his one henchman to shoot a few people, stabs someone whos already wounded, then makes some threat to Sarah.

Later on, after his one henchman is killed, offscreen, he tries to leg it, holds up John with little sucsess, then gets shot.

Was this the writers strike in action?

Did tehy stop writing half way through, and they had no idea where his story was going, or what to do with him, so they just shot him?

He's the guy that used to be in Eastenders as I mentioned weeks ago!

Yeah, I wondered what the point was too. Maybe to show how ruthless Derek is for executing the guy in front of his daugther (except it wasn't his daughter, but he didn't know that)? But then Derek had already killed the Turk guy.

Of course I keep thinking, the way they keep postponing judgement day, yet it still happens, would Kyle still be the right age to come back?

Would it matter if the boy Kyle died, since the future that Kyle came from was prevented anyway?

Ok, so judgement day still happened, but the future cant be exatly the same if a nuclear holocaust happened originally in 1997, but now happens in 2012.

I mean surely if the boy playing Kyle was the right age, originally he must have been born after the holocaust?

Who knows it could have been his radioactive sperm that eventually gave Sarah cancer?
