Unluckiest Charm in the Box
After sitting here thinking feveriously about how my life has changed so dramatically over the years, I cannot even begin to tell you how much this blastd computer device that I am typing on has changed my life ....
Before the internet I ...
Would read almost constantly. I had disciplined myself to buy at least one novel every payday, and would give myself two weeks to read it....
Would spend a lot more time socializing "face to face" with people instead of sitting on my butt typing in forums as I am doing right now...
Would actually take the time to go to the mall and LOOK for what I wanted instead of relying on eBay or Amazon...
Would spend more time exercising and travelling about " like to the library for research" instead of searching for everything on-line.
Would actually go to the movies or watch television instead of watching everything on youtube or DVD's that are played on my computer.
Would take time to listen to the music stereo in my living room instead of headphones attached to this computer tower...
In only a matter of a few short years, I have unknowingly allowed this device that I am sitting in front of, to turn me into nothing short of a "semi-zombie".
This truly is not good.....
And sadly its not just this computer. I have allowed gadgets to interact with almost every part of my once social life. When Im not in front of this screen, I am either on that blasted cellphone (which is nothing more than a miniturized version of this P.C.) or I am at work typing my butt off.
I have two television sets and three stereo systems that have not been used in so long that they actually have a wall of dust settled on them...
Its like the more time I spend in front of this monitor, the less sociable I have become with others. This blasted screen has practically dominated everything that I once enjoyed elsewhere.....and I am really starting to hate it!!
I think its time to make an attempt to get back to my old roots again and leave both," this computer and cellphone" alone for a while!!
I think I will go out to eat tonight, in a nice sit-down family restaurant for a change... and leave me cell at home!
